Michael Brennan - The Art of San Francisco

Michael Murphy

My practice moves between photography and painting, blending captured moments with intuitive mark-making. Influenced by my upbringing in Ashgabat and my time in San Francisco, I explore abstraction, symbolism, and rhythm. The works in this exhibition—two photographs and three small watercolor-and-ink pieces—are all connected to San Francisco, whether through recognizable imagery or the atmosphere in which they were created. Together they form a dialogue between observation and memory, offering the city both as image and impression.
